A shoutengai (商店街), also spelt shotengai, is a type of Japanese shopping street. These tend to be connected to the nearest station, can be covered and are often arcade-like in appearance. They generally include most types of shops / conveniences: restaurants, supermarkets, clothes stores, barbershops, post offices, and so on.
