Erawan Shrine is arguably one of the most revered spots in Bangkok if not Thailand as a whole. This popular shrine attracts Thais and foreigners, worshipers and tourists alike. Day or night, sunshine or rain, you will always see anything from a small group, to a packed crowd of people. You are also likely to see classical Thai dancing (notice the people in the small structure in the center of the photo – these are the dancers); and incense smoke floating throughout the shrine. The shrine is located at the corner of the Grand Hyatt Erawan Hotel – the structure on the upper left of the photo; you can also see part of the BTS on the upper right of the photo.
