Danpatjuk (단팥죽) is a Korean sweet red bean soup (also referred to as red bean porridge). Based on red beans, it is also topped with a variety of different items such as chestnuts, pine nuts, glutinous rice balls, cinnamon powder, etc. This dessert that is served warm is very welcome on a cold winter day, and is indeed traditionally eaten in winter. The picture of this particular bowl of danpatjuk was taken at The Second Best in Seoul (see previous post).
