Samudra Manthan (समुद्रमन्थन in Sanskrit) or The Churning of The Milk Ocean is a well-known episode of Hindu mythology. In essence, Devas (demigods) and Asuras (demons) form a temporary alliance to churn the ocean for the nectar of immortality. This episode is impressively depicted by this sculpture in Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok. The picture shows the Asuras’ effort in performing this task.
