Foremost amongst the attractions at Changdeokgung Palace (see earlier post) is probably The Secret Garden. As you can see in the picture the entrance to this ‘Secret’ Garden is clearly signposted … (“- _ -) … But seriously though, The Secret Garden was originally built as an area where the royal family could relax. It occupies the larger part of the palace grounds and contains many beautiful structures, ponds, and natural scenery. If you want to see The Secret Garden, you have to join a tour. This actually turns out to be quite a good thing as the guide is friendly and informative – and more importantly, the information is actually very interesting.
